Have you ever tried to explain or write down what an atom is? We all know they’re small, and many of us can probably visualise roughly what we think an atom looks like. Some might even know that the nucleus is made up of protons and neutrons and electrons are bound to the nucleus.
For many people, atoms are a complex subject that can’t easily be understood through written text alone. Even a proper definition, although factually correct, doesn’t make it much easier to understand:
“The smallest component of an element having the chemical properties of the element, consisting of a nucleus containing combinations of neutrons and protons and one or more electrons bound to the nucleus by electrical attraction; the number of protons determines the identity of the element.” (Dictionary.com)
Complex matters can be difficult to explain and even more difficult to read about, especially when considering the idea that people only retain 10% of the information they read about.
Explainer videos can help to simplify a topic, product or service using abstract visuals to demonstrate key elements and to make it easy to understand and easy to retain.
The hardest part of creating an explainer video is working out what should be included and how it should be represented.
To solve this challenge, I work with you to break down your product or service into bite size chunks, create a script and storyboard and then piece it all together in a way that’s easy to understand and visually appealing for the audience.
This is done by using animated abstract visuals and motion graphics to represent complex subjects and educate the audience as needed.
